Florence piccies

Santa Croce - inside, it's huge, with mellow sand-colored walls, some with faded frescoes, and beautiful painted panels. The facade is made up of three different types of marble, and was added to the church about two hundred years ago.

This is the Palazzo Vecchio. I am gagging to go inside it, apparently the rooms are insanely palatial.

How beautiful is this? There's a less well-maintained version of this style of wall treatment on a building closer to our apartment, and it's my favourite building in Florence. There's just something about decaying grandeur...

And lastly, my favourite statue so far - love the way the dead Medusa's arm is dangling off the pedestal. This is in the loggia out the front of the Uffizi Gallery (which we will be seeing soon, for those who are wondering!!)

Love is sharing your pictures from Italy
Great photos! I know we went in every church in Florence, Venice, and Rome. They're beautiful. Love the Medusa statue but can't remember if I saw it up close and personal. It was all so overwhelming! Thanks for sharing these pictures with us.
